Haggs (site of)

Haggs was a large castle which was remodelled into a mansion in the 17th century.

In 1550 John Hamilton of Haggs’s daughter-in-law, Isabella Elphinstone, was infefted in his liferent of the land of Riding and Riding mure. Gavin Hamiltoun of Brounecastel and John Thomeson acted as a baillies.
