Glencarse (site of)

Glencarse is the site of an old tower, the site of which may be occupied by Glencarse House.

In 1728 Amelia Murray, daughter and heiress of James Murray of Strowan and Glencarse, married Lord George Murray, son of John Murray, 1st Duke of Atholl.

Glencarse House was built in 1790, replacing an earlier house, and extended in the late 19th century.
