Garryhorn

Caricta Borealis, vulgo, The northpart of Carrick
Joan Blaeu, Amsterdam, 1654map image courtesy of NLS

There was once a castle at Garryhorn of which some ruins were still visible in the mid-19th century, although nothing of it now remains.

It was marked as the tower of Gadÿhorn on Blaeu’s mid-17th century map of Caricta Borealis.

The exact location has been lost so I have placed the site of the castle at Garryhorn farm pending further research.
