Fruid Castle

Fruid Castle is said to have been built by the Fraser family in the second half of the 12th century.

By the mid-20th century nothing much was left of the castle, and the site was marked by some grassy mounds and a few old trees.

In the 1960s the Fruid Reservoir was built, and flooded the site of Fruid Castle.
