Fingask Castle

Fingask Castle is a 16th century tower house which was extended in the late 17th century and restored in the early 20th century.

In the 16th century John Forret of Fingask married Grizel Anstruther, daughter of John Anstruther of Anstruther.

In 1672 Patrick Thriepland of Fingask acquired the town and lands of Rait from “the deceased Sir William Auchinleck of Balmanno” and others.
