Bankhead (site of)

Bankhead is marked as a castle on Pont’s 16th century map of Lanarkshire.

I have placed it on the site of Bankhead, a property in Lesmahagow marked on Ordnance Survey maps throughout the Victorian period and still extant on a map of 1967, pending further research.

The house was later demolished and the site is now occupied by housing on Bankhead Road.
