Aird's Castle

Aird’s Castle is a ruined castle which was previously known as Ardcarden.

In February 1611 Archibald Campbell, son of Lord John Campbell of Lawers and brother of James Campbell of Lawers, was granted the 4 merk lands of Ardcarden with the fortalice, the 20 merk lands of Glencarden, Auchinsaull, Ranidoch, Auchinbrek, Keironasche, Auchinreosche, Corremakcondio and Cordell, of old extent, close to Ardcarden, in the lordship of North Kintyre which Henry Stewart of Barskymming had resigned.
