This pair of stones are on a level platform, and have the appearance of possibly having once formed part of a stone circle.

Stone A is triangular in section, measuring approximately 0.58m tall by 0.58m wide at the base and 0.43m in thickness. It stands earthfast surrounded by packing stones, and is pointed in shape.

Stone B lies 8.20m ESE of Stone A and is similar in dimensions and shape to its near neighbour, measuring 0.79m long by 0.48m wide and around 0.46m thick.

The stones stand on the trackway leading to Castlethorn fort.
