The historic map is an Ordnance Survey map from 1919 to 1947, and is provided by the National Library of Scotland

I've named this stone Calamanach after the wood nearby, as it isn't listed by CANMORE, and given it an approximate grid reference. I reported it to the county archaeologist for his opinion, and he believes it is a standing stone.

At first I wondered if it was just a marker for the track, as there is a ditch next to the track which could cause problems in winter. However, there are a few track markers earlier on on the Cateran Trail all of which are much smaller, and this stone is on the wrong side of the ditch. If it was there to mark where the edge of the track is, it wouldn't do a very good job as you would be in the ditch before you reached the stone.

The stone stands approximately 1.2m high, and around the base there are packing stones visible.
