The historic map is an Ordnance Survey map from 1919 to 1947, and is provided by the National Library of Scotland

This large standing stone probably stood in the field to the west of Arthurstone House, although it's excact location is unknown. It may have stood next to a cairn. The stone was broken up in 1792 and used as building materials.

The name of the stone is said to have been the result of a connection with Arthurian legend.
