This weekend many properties were offering free admission in celebration of St. Andrew’s Day (today), so I chose to head up to Edinburgh Castle as I hadn’t actually been inside for many years.

When I got to the castle there was a long queue across the parade ground, but it was moving quite quickly.

The battlements were busy with a mixture of locals and tourists – and no wonder with such good views.
