Edinburgh Castle

This weekend many properties were offering free admission in celebration of St. Andrew’s Day (today), so I chose to head up to Edinburgh Castle as I hadn’t actually been inside for many years.

When I got to the castle there was a long queue across the parade ground, but it was moving quite quickly.

The battlements were busy with a mixture of locals and tourists – and no wonder with such good views.

My great great grandfather, John Montgomery, had a picture hanging in his cabin. His father had it in his. They told their children that this was were they came from. The castle photo has the name Edington Castle. Trying to link this picture with what I can find of Edington Castle but can’t perhapes picture is an earlier view? Needing help to identify photo.
